As the Geographic Information Systems Specialist at the GS-09 level in this position, you will:

  • Provide GIS/GPS user support including initial user setup
  • Maintain GIS group memberships
  • Provide mobile GIS support and inventory
  • Provide ArcGIS Online data and project management for district level projects
  • Define data need parameters for specific geospatial projects and/or assignments
  • Conduct GIS training
  • Manage geospatial databases, including conversion of digital data in various formats
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other internal and external organizations on geospatial matters
In addition to the GS-09 responsibilities, the GIS GS-11 Specialist will
  • Assist in the integration of Enterprise GIS with the long and short term planning and management activities
  • Provide coordination and technical direction of GIS data preparation, entry and analysis
  • Manage GIS operations project schedules
  • Coordinate corporate data base
  • Research and train users on new technology to improve workflow
